OpenTox 2022 Virtual Conference
New alternative methods in regulatory science
In 2016, the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act became the first US legislation to advance chemical safety evaluations by utilizing novel testing approaches that reduce the testing of vertebrate animals. Central to this mission is the advancement of new alternative approaches to implementing innovative testing methods in regulatory science. In the big data era, large amounts of in vitro and in vivo chemical testing data are currently available for developing toxicity prediction models. The development of new alternative approaches based on massive public toxicity is urgently needed in regulatory science. Recent advancements of new alternative methods for predictive toxicology are paving the road to future regulatory science and will have significant impacts on the public health. The workshop is intended for experts in this field to exchange their experiences and achievements and explore potential collaborations.
