The OpenTox COVID-19 Hackathon will run all week starting with the definition of problems and teams at the start of the week, work during the week on Slack and Github and team presentations, and awards the last day of the conference.
The unmet need for effective treatments for COVID-19 has spurred pharmaceutical companies to develop or repurpose therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2. Clinicians need to be mindful of the toxicity of a wide variety of possibly unfamiliar substances being tested or repurposed to treat COVID-19. The idea is to create a one stop resource of COVID-19 repurposed drugs. We will develop a collection of data (published/under review) from resources such as Pubmed, BioRxiv, ChemRxiv, preprint servers and clinical trial data. Through the data curated via this hackathon we will investigate mechanisms of action and toxicities of proposed COVID-19 therapeutics.
